I can't tell you how good it feels to have the tuma (pronounced with Arnold accent) out! I went into surgery feeling really positive and strong. It was funny because I walked into the OR with my surgeon, which seemed a bit weird (especially because I was having a Jack Nicholson moment from "Somethings Gotta Give" with the Johnny shirt) but we were chit chatting and it was all very upbeat. Next thing I knew I was in recovery. The anesthesia really knocks you out for a few days, but I am coming around. We took the dressing off on Friday but I was too scared to look until last night and it's not as bad as I imagined. Not the science fair project gone wrong that I feared. Dr. Porter ROX!! I am managing the pain well and am looking forward to getting a bit better everyday.

  1. I am a close friend of Kat's and part of "the blob" she talks about in her's a tight knit group of friends who are FUN! FUN! FUN! I am so proud of how she is handling everything. She continues to inspire us all. Love you Kat!
I am now a follower of this blog and will also give readers a different viewpoint of Kat's amazing achievements as we go along in 2009.
Long live "the blob!"-Janice aka "Groundhog"

  2. Kat - what a relief to know that you're out of surgery and on the road to recovery. We were all sending positive thoughts your way on Tuesday and hope that you felt it beaming in the window.

As for your earlier wig question - I say go for it. My old boss in TO had fun with the wig selections during her treatment process and said it was actually something her young daughter got a kick out of...helping her choose which ones to wear when etc.

  3. I laughed at the "rox" comment!!! I am so glad the bad stuff it O-U-T...out. Step one, check.

  4. Hi Kathleen - writing to say thinking of you. I won't say I can imagine what you are going through - because I can't - but I can say you are an inspiration with an amazing spirit. And it would take a "marketer" and a "mommy" to combine a technical solution with a personal and caring way to keep everyone updated.

Take care and thinking of you - Dawn Boylan

  5. Me again - should let you know that David tutored me through the blogging process - I will let you LOL from there....

  6. I think you are the one who ROX!!! :-)
